24SETT12:00Disklavier Festival: PIANOFORMANCE, MASSIMO GIUNTOLISala Stradivari12:00(GMT+00:00)

Dettaglio dell'evento

The unequal battle between a pianist and a computer for the mastery of a piano.
In other words, the man/machine relationship in an unprecedented musical key.
Pianoformance looks like a normal piano recital, until the piano itself unexpectedly reveals its own initiative and “independence”.
A sort of duel between the human and the technological element will arise, in a continuous alternation of competitions and collaborations, struggles for supremacy and perfect understandings.

Massimo Giuntoli (Milano, 1959), composer, performer and multimedial artist, began his career at the end of the 1970s.
Openly indebted to masters such as Frank Zappa, Aaron Copland and the so-called Canterbury Scene, he has developed his own musical language characterized by an uninhibited back and forth between the academy and a rather heterogeneous range of other languages.

Since 1980 he participated in many festivals in Italy and abroad. His musical production includes scenic actions and site specific installations.

In August 2022, the University of Oxford hosted a speech by Jacopo Costa namedThe Musical and Literary Adventures of Massimo Giuntoli: Beat Generation, Gertrude Stein, and Imaginary Worlds”, in the conference “Progressive Rock: Geography, Culture, Discourse”.
