During the presentation, entire pieces or parts of Alkan’s compositions will be performed. <\/p>\n\n
Vincenzo Maltempo’s artistic personality has found a significant place in the diverse contemporary music scene thanks to his dedicated work rediscovering and disseminating the music of Charles Valentin Alkan, of whom he is now considered one of the world’s most authoritative interpreters and scholars. He has dedicated numerous recordings to Alkan and a biography published by Florestano Edizioni. His recordings include titles dedicated to Beethoven and Schumann, as well as complete works such as Scriabin’s 10 Sonatas, Lyapunov’s 12 Transcendental Etudes, Liszt’s 19 Hungarian Rhapsodies, Brahms’s two Piano Concertos, the complete piano works of Paul Dukas, and many others. His works are consistently praised in magazines such as Diapason, The Guardian, PianoNews, Gramophone, and many others. Andrew Clements himself in the Guardian describes him as “exhilarating, a true revelation!” Winner of the 2006 Venice Prize at the Teatro La Fenice, his international concert career has since seen him perform at the most important festivals and theaters in Europe, America, and Asia. He is an honorary member of the Alkan Society in London and since 2019 has collaborated with the prestigious German publishing house G. Henle Verlag on the publication of works by Alkan and Liszt. His piano transcriptions of instrumental and orchestral works are published by Ries & Erler in Berlin and MusePress in Tokyo. Since 2017, he has been the founder and artistic director of the Alkan Prize for Piano Virtuosity. He is principal piano professor at the Turin Conservatory, where he has lived for several years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":52388,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":[],"tags":[],"event_type":[270,268],"event_type_2":[],"class_list":["post-52390","ajde_events","type-ajde_events","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","event_location-sala-monteverdi-en","event_organizer-cremonafiere-en","event_type-music-culture-en","event_type-piano-en"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ajde_events\/52390","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ajde_events"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/ajde_events"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=52390"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ajde_events\/52390\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":53745,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ajde_events\/52390\/revisions\/53745"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/52388"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=52390"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=52390"},{"taxonomy":"event_type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/event_type?post=52390"},{"taxonomy":"event_type_2","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/event_type_2?post=52390"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
