Two pianists from different generations and backgrounds – Luigi Carroccia, performing the Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11, and Francesca Antonucci, performing the Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21 – will bring these masterpieces of the Romantic repertoire to life. They will be joined by the Quartetto Doré and double bassist Edoardo Dolci, in a collaboration made possible thanks to the support of the prestigious Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona, a world-renowned institution for advanced string instrument training. He came to particular prominence after attracting critical attention at the Van Cliburn Competition in Fort Worth, the Ferruccio Busoni Competition in Bolzano, and the Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Since then, his concert career has taken him regularly across Italy and abroad, with performances at institutions such as the Duszniki International Chopin Piano Festival, the Miami International Piano Festival, Flagey in Brussels, and Town Hall in Birmingham, to name just a few. In February 2025, the cover of Amadeus magazine was dedicated to his newly released CD featuring the two piano concertos by Fryderyk Chopin in a transcription for piano and string quintet. His performances have also been broadcast several times on Rai Radio3. His artistic training, which began with accordion studies as a child, was completed at the Monteverdi Conservatory in Bolzano and later, thanks to a two-year scholarship, at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He then pursued advanced studies at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, where he was Artist in Residence from 2018 to 2022 in the class of Louis Lortie.
He is currently Professor of Piano at the Morlacchi Conservatory in Perugia and Artistic Director of the “Riviera di Ulisse” International Classical Music Festival.

The Doré Quartet, named after the artist Gustave Doré, was founded in 2021 at the Conservatorium Maastricht through the union of young talents.
Just as Doré was able to reinterpret the greatest masterpieces of Western literature through his engravings, the quartet likewise aims to reimagine the historical and contemporary string quartet repertoire with authenticity and passion.
The quartet quickly gained visibility, performing at major festivals and institutions in Italy and abroad, including the Società del Quartetto di Milano, the Società Filarmonica di Trento, Bologna Festival, MantovaMusica, Orlando Festival, and Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven.
The ensemble has received numerous recognitions, including winning the Pro Canale grant promoted by the Stauffer Academy, which gave them the opportunity to play four historical instruments, as well as being awarded a scholarship from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Edoardo Dolci, began studying the double bass at the age of 18, after playing classical guitar. He graduated with honors and special mention from the Conservatory of Mantua under the guidance of Professor Daniela Georgieva. He continued his training at leading Italian academies such as Pederzani, Chigiana, and Stauffer, earning the prestigious Stauffer Performance Diploma with Alberto Bocini. He has participated in masterclasses with renowned teachers and collaborates with major orchestras, including the Cherubini directed by Riccardo Muti. He also performs as a soloist and chamber musician, dedicating himself to transcriptions to expand the solo and chamber repertoire for double bass.

The Stauffer Academy, the main activity of the Stauffer Foundation, was founded in Cremona in 1985 by Andrea Mosconi and Salvatore Accardo, with the aim of promoting the tradition of the Italian school of string instruments and supporting the artistic and professional development of young musicians from Italy and around the world. Accardo, who still leads the Violin Masterclass, immediately involved some of the most prominent figures in Italian music: Bruno Giuranna (Viola and Chamber Music), Rocco Filippini (Cello), and Franco Petracchi (Double Bass). The courses quickly became a benchmark for top talents, offering a path of high-level training and access to the professional music world. In 2010, the Academy launched its String Quartetcourse, entrusted to the Quartetto di Cremona. Antonio Meneses led the Cello course from 2015 to 2024, after which the position was taken over by Frans Helmerson; in the same year, Alberto Bocini joined as Double Bass professor. The Academy continuously expands its educational offerings, introducing new classes, courses, masterclasses, and interdisciplinary programs. Among them stands out the Concertmaster Course, taught by leading concertmasters and renowned conductors. Over forty years, Stauffer has trained numerous soloists, winners of international competitions, principal players, and acclaimed chamber music groups. Since its foundation, the Academy has offered tuition-free programs and hosts its students in Palazzo Stauffer—a fully renovated venue dedicated to their artistic development.

[268],"event_type_2":[
post-52539","ajde_events","type-ajde_events","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","event_location-zelioli-lanzini-room","event_organizer-fazioli-pianoforti-en","event_organizer-fondazione-stauffer-en","event_type-piano-en
["GET
