The Disklavier Festival, as part of the program of events organized by Yamaha Music Europe – Branch Italy at the Sala Stradivari in Cremona Musica, offers a series of events related to the Yamaha Disklavier piano, with the intention of introducing the potential of Disklavier technology to the international audience of Cremona Musica, to enhance existing projects of musicians working with the Disklavier, and to open up to new ideas and experimentation.

Cremona Musica’s mission is not only to organize the event but continues 365 days a year with a constant commitment to promoting music. This includes co-marketing projects with partner companies to create prestigious initiatives like these.

The Disklavier Festival follows the multi-year Disklavier Composers Contest project, which ran for four years until 2022.

The Disklavier Festival will be a container of events related to the creative use of the Disklavier, we will host internationally renowned musicians who habitually use this type of piano, we will experiment with the “remote lesson”, connecting pianos thousands of kilometers apart, and many other ideas are in the development phase.

Disklavier: More Than a Piano. Explorations in Contemporary Compositional Language

The project unfolds through a performance event divided into three distinct parts, aimed at highlighting the Yamaha Disklavier as an innovative musical instrument, capable of extending expressive and compositional possibilities beyond the limits of the traditional piano. The event aims to present in-depth research on the Disklavier and a new original composition, with a direct comparison between acoustic and electronic music.
