What is your main mission and area of activity?

Alhambra Guitarras was born in 1965 in Muro de Alcoy, Spain. Our main mission is to manufacture high-quality handmade guitars —classical, flamenco and acoustic— using the traditional Spanish heel construction system and wood that we carefully select at source. We are proud to say that we manufacture entirely in Spain.

In addition, through the Alhambra Guitarras Foundation, we promote and disseminate guitar culture internationally, supporting students, performers and composers.

How does your work navigate between tradition and innovation? What does this dialogue mean to you, especially in the context of Cremona?

Our work is a constant dialogue between respect for Spanish artisanal tradition and the incorporation of technical and design innovations. This means preserving handcrafted processes passed down through generations of luthiers, while also researching sustainable materials, acoustic improvements, and contemporary designs. In a context like Cremona —a cradle of musical craftsmanship— this balance is both a tribute to history and a commitment to the future.

What will you be presenting at the Acoustic Guitar Village this year? Can you give us a preview of your participation?

This year we will present a selection of our most representative guitars, including models that combine exotic woods and innovative construction techniques, as well as high-end models and acoustic guitars that uphold our philosophy of craftsmanship and innovation. We will also offer live demonstrations and the opportunity to talk to our luthiers about the creative process.

Is there a project you’re currently working on that you feel particularly connected to?

On the special occasion of our 60th anniversary, we are reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and responsible forest management without losing sight of our essence. To this end, we have launched a new line of guitars made from 100% FSC®-certified wood (C196715), which guarantees that it comes exclusively from forests managed responsibly under strict environmental, social and economic standards.

Environmentally appropriate management: Biodiversity and ecosystems are protected.

Social benefit: Local communities and their rights are supported.

Economic viability: Responsible use of forest resources is ensured.

This official certification sets us apart and endorses our commitment to a sustainable production model based on sound excellence, the best raw materials, environmentally responsible processes and social rights. Every Alhambra guitar built with 100% FSC® wood is another step towards a future where music and nature go hand in hand. “Heritage Inspiring the Future”

by Martina Gozzini Alhambra Guitarras, a historic company founded in 1965 in Muro de Alcoy, Spain, will be present at the Acoustic Guitar Village in Cremona.
