{"id":53628,"date":"2025-09-22T11:15:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T11:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/cremona-musica-2025-legendary-violinist-midori-among-the-awarded-artists\/"},"modified":"2025-09-22T11:16:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T11:16:10","slug":"cremona-musica-2025-legendary-violinist-midori-among-the-awarded-artists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cremonamusica.com\/en\/cremona-musica-2025-legendary-violinist-midori-among-the-awarded-artists\/","title":{"rendered":"Cremona Musica 2025: legendary violinist Midori among the awarded artists"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Cremona, September 22nd 2025-<\/em> Everything is ready in Cremona for the 2025 edition of <strong>Cremona Musica International Exhibitions and Festival<\/strong>, scheduled for September 26th to 28th.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the numerous guests and events, the names of the artists who will be honored with the <strong>Cremona Musica Awards<\/strong> have been announced: for many years now, performers and institutions that have achieved excellence in the world of music have been granted this prestigious prize \u2013 among them Alfred Brendel, Michael Nyman and Krzysztof Pendereck<strong>i.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the <em>Performance<\/em> category, the 2025 edition will award the Cremona Musica Award to Japanese-American violinist <strong>Midori<\/strong>, a first-time guest of the event. The award ceremony, on the afternoon of Friday the 26th, will be followed by an <em>open class<\/em> led by the artist at Palazzo Stauffer, headquarter of the Stauffer Academy. During the awards ceremony, there will also be time for a Q&amp;A with journalists.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will be a unique and unmissable opportunity to meet one of the leading artists on the international violin scene. Midori was born in Osaka but moved to the United States at the age of 10, where she studied at the Juilliard School and launched a career that led her to collaborate with the greatest musicians of the 20th century, from Leonard Bernstein to Yo-Yo Ma, from Zubin Mehta to Claudio Abbado. Today, she plays regularly with the world&#8217;s most prestigious orchestras, but she also maintains an intense educational and social activity: as the founder of numerous non-profit organizations, she is a United Nations Messenger of Peace. She plays a 1734 Guarnieri del Ges\u00f9 violin.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to Midori, the Cremona Musica Awards will also be awarded to <strong>Francesco Filidei<\/strong> (Composition category), <strong>Franco Scala<\/strong> for the &#8220;Incontri col Maestro&#8221; Piano Academy (Project category), and pianist <strong>Bruno Canino<\/strong> (A Life for the Piano).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cremona, September 22nd 2025- Everything is ready in Cremona for the 2025 edition of Cremona Musica International Exhibitions and Festival, scheduled for September 26th to 28th.
