The recording project
Born out of a desire to rediscover and bring wider recognition to an unjustly neglected
repertoire, this new recording project devoted to Eugenio Visnoviz (1906–1931) is presented by violinist Valentina Danelon and pianist Cristina Santin.
Released worldwide on 1 July 2026 by the prestigious Dutch label Brilliant Classics, the album casts a long-overdue spotlight on one of the most fascinating yet little-known composers of early twentieth-century Central European music, marking the 120th anniversary of his birth.
At the heart of the recording is the Sonata in E-flat major for Violin and Piano, presented here in its world-premiere recording. Alongside the Sonata, the album is completed by an intimate recording of the complete set of Klavierstücke for solo piano.
The programme forms a compelling artistic statement, revealing the inner world of an extraordinarily precocious, profound and troubled composer whose music remained hidden for decades in the folds of a complex history and a personal destiny tragically cut short at the age of only twenty-five, almost certainly by his own hand.
