Remote Concert: From Rovigo to Cremona, in Real Time
The Piano Department of the “Francesco Venezze” Conservatory of Music in Rovigo presents an innovative Remote Concert at Cremona Musica: an experience bringing musical performance and technology together, overcoming the physical distance between performers and audiences.
Students from the Conservatory’s Bachelor and Master’s Degree courses and the Postgraduate Programme “Play&Rec” will perform live from the Auditorium of the Rovigo Conservatory on a Bösendorfer Disklavier. Through a real-time connection, every aspect of the pianist’s performance — notes, dynamics, articulation and pedalling — will be transmitted to Cremona and reproduced on a second Disklavier, physically recreating the performance in front of the audience.
This is therefore not simply the transmission of an audio or video recording: the piano in Cremona will actually play live, receiving in real time the performance data generated by the pianist in Rovigo at that very moment.
The project offers a tangible demonstration of the new possibilities of remote musical performance, opening up new perspectives for concerts, teaching, masterclasses and international collaborations. Through technology, two pianos in two different cities become a single musical instrument and a shared performance space.
WIth live remote performances by Francesca Antonucci, Federico Pipitone, Pietro Vaccari.
