Event Details

This conference presents research on the relationship between global body coordination and the violinist’s fine gesture, demonstrating how posture, bow movement, and sound quality are part of a single body-instrument system. Through musical physiology, biomechanics, pedagogy, and injury prevention,
new perspectives will be proposed for teaching and studying the violin in a more conscious, effective, and
sustainable way.

Alessio Nacuzi is a violinist, teacher, and researcher.
After earning his diploma in Italy, he continued his studies at the prestigious Liszt Academy in Budapest, in the class of the head of the string department founded by Hubay. He subsequently obtained his solo violin diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, again in the class of the head of the department, which also included teachers such as Charles-Auguste de Bériot, Henri Vieuxtemps, Henryk Wieniawski, Jenő Hubay, Eugène Ysaÿe, Arthur Grumiaux, and André Gertler. He has attended masterclasses with: G. Franzetti, F. Cusano, A. Moccia, Ph. Herreweghe, F. Mezzena, M. Kowalski, Gy. Stuller, T.
Varga, and E. Grach. He holds the violin chair at the Liceo Musicale “G. Bruno” in Rome.
He teaches Body Awareness Techniques and Pathophysiology of Vocal and Instrumental Performance at the
“Mascagni” Conservatory in Livorno.
He has performed with several symphony orchestras (Haydn Orchestra, Tiroler Festspiele Erl, Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra),
and is regularly invited to give masterclasses in Europe.
In 2024, he completed a Master’s degree in Artistic Research at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia, and in 2026, a Certificate in
Music Physiology from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW). He is part of the study group at the Universities of
Vienna, Osnabrück, Sydney, Pisa, and Lucca that studies violinist movements.
He is a practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method and Functional Movement System (FMS and SFMA, YBT); he is also a Postural Education Technician (FIF) and trained in “Anatomy Trains in Structure and Function.”
He is a mental trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, with specializations oriented to coaching and performance
(sports and performing arts), including behavioral and communication analysis tools.
He holds a Suzuki Level 5 violin education, and his students play in international youth orchestras such as
Concertgebouw, Wiener Jeunesse, and others.
