Massimo was born in Milan on April 4, 2005. He began studying piano at the age of 10. From the very beginning, he demonstrated his interpretive abilities and artistic sensibility, which have led him to win more than 30 first prizes and special awards in prestigious national and international competitions, including: the International Music Festival in Paris; the Franz Liszt Center Piano Competition in Spain; the International Piano Talents Competition; the International Piano & Orchestra Competition “Città di Cantù” Young Talents, playing with the “M. Jora” Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau conducted by Maestro Ovidiu Balan; the Rome International Piano Competition – Chopin Rome, Emerging Artists section; and in 2024, the International Amadeus Piano Competition and the Golden Classical Music Awards.
At just 11 years old, he performed Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D, and at 12, W.A. Rowland’s K. 467. Mozart, writing the Cadenzas for the latter, at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan with the A. Vivaldi Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Lorenzo Passerini. At 14, he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 19.
At 18, Massimo performed Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in Craiova, Romania, with the Oltenia Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Maestro Gheorghe Costin, and Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the A. Vivaldi Orchestra conducted by Maestro Ovidiu Balan. In 2025, Massimo performed Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 25, with the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro James Henshaw at the Sanremo Opera House. Massimo, invited by ABF – Andrea Bocelli Foundation, participates in the Chamber Music Masterclasses at the Franco Corelli Academy in Camerino and accompanies international opera singers.
In July 2022, he opened Andrea Bocelli’s concert at the Parco Ducale in Parma. To date, Massimo, just twenty years old, has performed several recitals and performances in major concert halls in Italy and throughout Europe, including the Teatro Belloni, the Teatro di Marcello in Rome, the Palazzina Liberty in Milan for the prestigious Società dei Concerti di Milano, the Teatro Comunale in Vicenza, the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, and the Palazzo Pitti in Florence. He has participated in the St. Petersburg International Piano Festival in Russia; in Windsor, England, where he also gave a lecture for students at just 13 years old; in Spain for the “Ciclo Maestros Internacionales”; in Belgium; in Helsinki, Finland; and at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 2024, he performed with the Orchestra Notturna Clandestina in the one-act opera “The Little Prince,” written and conducted by Maestro Enrico Melozzi, at the Teatro Regio in Parma and the Teatro Valli in Reggio Emilia. He has attended masterclasses with Leonel Morales, Giuseppe Andaloro, Yuri Bogdanov, Markus Schirmer, and Antonio di Cristofano.
He studied under Maestro Vincenzo Balzani and at the G. Verdi Conservatory with Maestro Silvia Rumi. A classical high school graduate, Massimo loves composing music; in addition to his own compositions, including a concerto for piano and orchestra and a quintet for piano and wind instruments performed for ABF in August 2024, Massimo often writes the cadenzas for the pieces he performs. Music is an essential element that always accompanies him.
