Máximo Klyetsun, born in 2006, is a Portuguese pianist of the new generation, already gaining recognition on the international concert stage. Raised in Portugal by Ukrainian parents, he discovered classical music early, inspired by his sister’s violin studies. He began piano lessons at six and quickly revealed exceptional musical sensitivity and discipline.
He graduated from the Bomfim Conservatory in 2024 with the highest academic and civic distinctions, studying with Patrícia Ventura and Maria Hoffman. He later obtained the Artist Diploma at the École Normale de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot, with Très Bien avec Félicitations du Jury, under Marian Rybicki. He is currently studying at the University of Minho with Ângelo Martingo, while continuing private studies with Marian Pivka.
Máximo has performed across Europe and internationally, in venues and festivals in Paris, Bern, Lisbon, Madrid, Rome, Vienna, Rabat, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo, including Casa da Música and the Copacabana Palace Theatre. He has collaborated with orchestras and is active in chamber music.
His competition achievements include First Prize at the Prix du Piano Bern, Second Prize and Audience Prize at the International ANIMATO Piano Competition in Paris, and over 50 awards in international competitions across Europe and the USA. In 2026, he was selected for the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition.
He has participated in masterclasses with leading pianists and pedagogues, including Vladimir Viardo, Arie Vardi, Artur Pizarro, and Philippe Raskin. Beyond music, he is passionate about cultural heritage, museums, football, and contemporary global developments.
