VIRGINIA ROSSETTI – pianist
Born on October 25, 1988, she began studying piano with Massimiliano Ferrati and graduated from the Antonio Buzzolla Conservatory in Adria (Rovigo), her hometown, with honors and special mention. She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel with Filippo Gamba and at the Royal Flemish Conservatoire in Brussels with Aleksandar Madzar. She earned a Master’s degree in Pedagogy from the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in the class of Anna Kravtchenko. Since 2000, she has won numerous national and international competitions, including bronze at the 2009 Premio Venezia and a special recognition at the Marizza in Trieste “for depth of thought, supported by a skillful search for expression and sound.” She has performed at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Foce in Lugano, the Volkshaus in Zurich, the Rondo Saal in Pontresina, the Sala Tartini in Trieste, and at the Portogruaro International Music Festival. Her recording debut for the Naxos label was significant, featuring previously unreleased pieces for two pianos by Witold Lutoslawski and the complete works—also for piano duo—by Vittorio Rieti. She has also recorded live for Rai Radio3, participating in the Quirinale Concerts from the Cappella Paolina. She teaches piano practice at the A. Steffani Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto (TV). She is the curator of the Into the Music project, a series of concert-lessons and podcasts for secondary schools, bringing classical music to younger generations.
