Espositore SOUNDMIT
Theresyn
Info
Theresyn is the project of Nori Ubukata, a Japanese musician, composer, thereminist, and sound designer living in France. Created to expand the expressive possibilities of the traditional theremin, Theresyn combines the gestural control of the historic electronic instrument with an advanced analog synthesis engine. The project was developed in collaboration with Yves Usson, renowned designer of the Arturia MiniBrute and MicroBrute synthesizers, and designer Chris Dubier.
What they do
Theresyn creates handcrafted instruments that blend theremin, analog synthesizer, and new forms of expressive control. Distinctive features include a pressure-sensitive touch pad for sound articulation impossible on a traditional theremin, an Ondes Martenot-inspired resonator, and numerous original solutions designed to offer musicians a unique playing experience. Each instrument is handcrafted with particular attention to sound and construction quality

I'll bring it to the fair
Nori Ubukata is a constant presence at the event. He has participated since the sixth and final edition of the Torino Synth Meeting in 2016, and has accompanied the event throughout its evolution, culminating in the current Soundmit. Over the years, he has become a true friend of the event and the Italian community. Today, Theresyn instruments are produced in Turin by Alphalab Audio, a collaboration that combines Nori Ubukata’s vision with Italian manufacturing expertise and is a source of particular pride for Soundmit
